I am a Vietnamese researcher based in Tokyo and a former ADB-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) scholar, currently pursuing a PhD in Asia Pacific Studies at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (Japan). My research lies at the intersection of International Relations theory and historical analysis.

I study legitimacy, norms, and the historical foundations of political authority in international politics, with a regional focus on East and Southeast Asia. My current work explores how historical legacies continue to shape contemporary international norms and state behaviour.

My Master's thesis explores the blurred boundary between international law and politics through how states strategically use dispute settlement mechanisms.
